Skiing!

Shane and I went skiing a couple weekends ago. This was my first time this season and only his second. You would think with living in a place like Erie we'd find more weekends to go. I'm starting to get nervous with all these high temps that we won't be able to go again this year before all the snow melts!

The Car Accident . . .

RIP Green Hornet, aka The Cheetah, aka the 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva, aka Shane's Baby















Friday, January 21st, Shane called me a little after 5pm . . .
Shane - "I was in an accident . . . I'm ok, but . . I was in an accident."
Me - "Oh my gosh. Are you ok?! What happened?!" (my heart stopped beating and then started pumping a million miles a minute, my stomach also jumped into my throat)
Shane - "I'm ok. I was in an accident."
Me - "Where are you? Can I come meet you?"
Shane - "Yeah. Sure. Come to the country fair up by 90."
Me - "Ok. I will be right there."















As I pulled up to the scene, I knew his car was totaled, and the first thing I did was look for him. To make sure he really was ok. And there he was on the side of the road laughing with a couple people. Whew. Well if he's laughing, he must be ok, right?! He was. And it was so good to see that with my own eyes. But I still just wanted to hold him in my arms really tight.
























Long story short, a girl pulled out in front of Shane and he couldn't stop in time. This was one of the days where it was almost negative out because of the wind chill, and Shane had to stay out in the cold from 5:15 - 7ish. When he finally came over to me after the cops came and took the report, he was like ice. I just hated how I had to sit there, and there wasn't anything I could do.
























After the crash, the windshield cracked, the airbags deployed (which he didn't even really notice), and after putting the car in park and turning the ignition off, the car was still running. It ran for a good 10 minutes after he turned it off (it wasn't giving up without a fight), but eventually the cheetah stopped . . . for good.















The other insurance company didn't get Shane a rental car until the 26th, and he has to return it February 1st . . . . . we are still looking for a vehicle, but are unsure of what we should get since Shane and I mostly carpool to work and back. I think we are leaning towards another SUV . . or maybe a minivan. Any suggestions for those types of vehicles?

We really didn't get that much from insurance for his car (it was a 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva after all), but Shane left that accident without a scratch on him, and for that we thank God. He really was with Shane on that day, and we are so grateful for that.

7 Years!

7 years ago today Shaney and I officially began our relationship together (and only met shortly before that). Ever since then we've pretty much lived together too. Either at his dorm, my parents house, his parents house, and then eventually our own apartment and houses.
I really can't believe it's been 7 years already! Time flies when you're having fun!To think that Shaney's been able to put up with me for that long! THAT is impressive!


But seriously Shane, God truly blessed me when he put you in my life 7 years ago, and every day since then I just feel even more lucky and blessed to have you. You are everything to me. You are my "Rock". And I love you more than you will ever know.

Boys And Their Toys . . .

We just got a new (used) tractor, and the grass finally grew long enough that Shane was able to go out and play with his new toy! I was surprised at how quick it was for him to mow so much! (Good thing when you have 8.5 acres!) Also a good thing when you only mow like 2 or 3 of it (the rest are woods and such!)!

Shaney's 26th Birthday!

This past weekend, we celebrated Shaney's birthday!

Friday, we went to JR's Last Laugh with his fam and my parents! It was so much fun, and I really don't know why we don't go there more often!
Saturday, we had the fam over to celebrate with some pizza, cake, and icecream!
We like to get fun cakes, because who says that you have to have balloons on every single cake past 16?!And the awesomely true card that my parents got Shane . . . .
Gosh do I have the best parents and hubby anyone could ask for! ;-)

Last Ski Trip!

Shane and I took what will probably be our last ski trip yesterday. And what a BEAUTIFUL day it was! Sun was shining (even got a little sun on my face)! Blue skies! Freshly groomed trails! Fun jumps!

Here are some pics of Shane going off the jumps and going in the half pipe @ the Peak! He is amazzzzzing at skiing. He goes so fast through the woods, and can jump and do tricks like it's his job! One day I'll get there! ;-) . . . (yeah right). It's so fun for me to watch him though, and it was such a great day out! I did go off some of the jumps (no fancy tricks though), and I landed them too (No pics or vid. You'll just have to trust me on that).

Sad that we probably won't be able to ski again this season, but soooooooooo excited for warmer weather (hopefully)!

Birthday Bear!

Aww! Look at what got delivered to me today (I didn't even know I could get things delivered to me here at work)! The cutest bear ever by the cutest person ever, my hubby!!

Thanks baber!! I can't stop smiling!! You are the best! :-)

Post UP!

Shane and I had our "Date Night" last Friday. It was so great! We went to TGI Friday's for dinner. I had an amazing strawberry fields salad! It was soooo good and a couple bites of Shane's Jack Daniel's Chicken Strips! We played some calendar cranium, and saw my Uncle there.
We then went to go see the movie, UP! In 3-D! You can see from this picture I was waaayy too excited! Good thing we got there early because it was sold out! We got some good seats too! I thought they matched the 3-D glasses with Carl's (the main old guy) glasses, which I thought was totes cute and a good idea, but Mase pointed out that those were the same 3-D glasses they got when they went to see Monsters vs. Aliens soo . . . .

But it was a great movie!! Worth $20?! Yes! After a while I didn't even know I was wearing 3-D glasses and the quality was pretty good! A lot better than the old days with the red and blue glasses. The movie was very cute! I thought it almost had more adult humor than kid humor . . in fact the one kid behind us said . . "is the movie over yet? I'm getting tired." So I think we might've enjoyed it more than a lot of the little kids there. I don't want to give too much info away on the movie, but I definitely recommend seeing it!

Happy Birthday Shaney!

Today marks not only the 2nd of 3 "Friday the 13ths" this year, but it marks my hubby's 25th birthday!!! It also marks the 20th birthday of the world wide web. If you know Shaney, you know that this is so crazy, because Shane is obsessed with the computer and internet! Now they can celebrate together (which I am sure they have been doing all day)!

Tonight we are celebrating with the fam! Getting Shane's favorite grub, Pizza! Also going to eat my favorite grub, Cake! So excited to have everyone over and eat lots of food!

Peek N' Peak!

Yay! Shane and I decided to go skiing today (Sunday) at Peek N' Peak! (I always forgot which "peak/peek" went first. . . so I made a little thing up . . . you want to "peek"/look before you "peak" go down the mountain. . . I know . . I'm weird). . .
I was very reluctant to go . . . it was soooo cold out today (and I HATE being cold), but our good friends from track (Jon & Cassie) were coming also, and I wanted to see them, so we bundled up with TONS of layers and headed out to ski.I'm really glad we went, because I had A LOT of fun. I enjoy skiing more and more every time I go. . . probably because I get more comfortable doing it. This is my 2nd or 3rd year of skiing, but I usually only ski once or twice a year . . soo . . . but I am getting better! I went on a "box" today and through the woods and on some "jumps" (although I'll admit . . . I didn't get much air) . . but I did not fall once! Yay!
Shane however, is much MUCH more experienced than I am. He just amazes me with his zooming through the woods, his speed and his crazy high and complicated jumps he does (iron cross, helicopter, double daffy, and lots more!)!!
Shane and I got there around 10am, and then Jon and Cassie met up with us for lunch and then we all went back out. Cassie's dad is an instructor there and skied with us for a while too! It was fun! I really miss them! And track! We were all such a family and had so much fun together!
It was a very fun time. A very cold time, but a very fun time. I just love that Shane and I have these activities that we both enjoy and can do together. And skiing is a sport you can do forever, which makes it even better.

I made my poor hubby go to the eye doctor to see why his right eye goes blind about once a month. . . . they referred us to a neurologist . . . . but he had to get his eyes dilated . . and holy crap! It was so weird!

Countdowns!

Yay!! So today marks a couple big countdowns . . . .

1 month until our cruise!!! My best friends from highschool (KC, Mase, KT, & Nikkie) and I are going on a cruise to Mexico! It's our first "real" vacation together. We went to Canada two times, eh?! But this is BIG. . . driving, flying, cruising, snorkeling, not getting lost (as long as I'm not in control of the directions), eating, drinking, excursioning, swimming, gym-ing, picturing, activity-ing, sleeping (hopefully), creating lots of new quotes . . . . all together. Can't wait!

2 days until I get to see my hubby!! He has been in Virginia without me . . sniff sniff . . . or I guess I have been here without him . . . anyways. . . he is finally coming home for good!! . . . ::: WARNING:: SAPPY ALERT:::. . . I have missed him sooooo much. I miss hugging him when he gets home from work everyday, I miss watching all of our crazy ten million tv shows together, I miss getting two q-tips out, I miss getting both of our toothbrushes out and putting mint toothpaste on mine and kids toothpaste on his (shhh . . don't tell Shane I told you). I miss snuggling with him at night. I miss his smile, his face. I miss making mac n'cheese for dinner every night . . . with an occassional pizza dinner . . . I miss playing soccer with him. I miss helping pick out his clothes . . ok maybe I don't miss that. . . since he wouldn't remember to ask me until I was already in bed and comfy. . . I miss making him dance with me . . . I miss his laugh . . . I miss my Shaney! Hey I warned you! :-P


2 or 3 days until I get to see my beautiful niece, Bryce, again!!
