The Following Took Place Between 4:00AM and 5:00AM . . .

4:00AM - I lay peacefully asleep.
4:01 AM - I spring into a sitting position as my cat, Jinx, sneezes RIGHT in my face. I mean literally, my face got wet from it. Gross. I say "Jinx!" - and lightly toss her off the bed.
4:14 AM - Finally get back to sleep.
4:15 AM - Jinx jumps back on bed, on me, and starts kneading me, as she purrs like a freight train right in my face. She then continues on and starts kneading my hair and basically lays right on my head. I say "Jinx! That's enough." - and lightly toss her off the bed.
4:29 AM - Finally back to sleep.
4:30 AM - Tag Team! Nina (other kitty) jumps on bed and jumps on me. Starts kneading me. Then comes over to the side right in my face and rubs her head on mine (while she also is purring like a freight train). She then tries to stick her head under my hand so that I pet her. I say "Nina! That's enough." - and throw her all the way across the room! Kidding! I lightly toss her off the bed.
4:44 AM - Finally back to sleep (kinda).
4:45 AM - Nina jumps back on the bed. Starts purring and sitting on my head. At this point, I'm just starting to get extremely frustrated. Why can't our kitties let us sleep!? This happens EVERY night. Except usually not for an hour straight. So I let her just lay on my head thinking maybe she'll stop purring and I can just go back to sleep.
5:00 AM - Motor mouth is still purring away. Me - "Shaneeeeeeeeee. The cats won't leave me alone. I've been up since 4 AM. I'm going to cry." Shane then picks up Nina off my head, goes and finds Jinx, and puts them in our computer room for the remainder of the morning so I can get some sleep.

I'm So Excited!!

And I just can't hide it . . . so I'm going to tell you all about it!! (but not really cause some of it is a secret) . . .

• Mase's TOP SECRET bachelorette party is this weekend!! KINDA freaking out about this. Should be good.
• My kitties turn 3 this weekend (holy cow time flies!)!! Makes me want to go out and get them each a kitty for their birthday!
• Shaney's finally coming home from a 4 day work trip that was 4 days too long! I really missed him.
• Excited that (I think) we finally came to a conclusion on our house . . . we were going to completely redo the entire downstairs layout, but I think we will just drywall some things and wait a couple years to see if we really like where we are and then maybe do an addition upstairs. We are getting our septic redone this summer, and I just want to enjoy what we have right now.
  
• Excited for one of my BFFs, who just bought her own house! Can't wait to go see it and help her out with it!
• My sister-in-law and brother-in-law also got a new house! They are amazing at decorating and making homes look awesome, so I'm excited to see what they do with it!

My Nina!

It's been a while since I've posted about the kitties. Here is a cute pic of Nina in our wreath. We are still unpacking stuff (will it ever end?!) . . . but the kitties are having a ball with all the boxes and paper they can play in!

My Little Helpers!

My little helpers! I don't know what I would do without them (except get my wrapping done a lot faster)! And they just make it so much more fun (and frustrating)! But really. It is fun (for a couple of minutes until they will not stop climbing in the bags, laying on the wrapping paper that I have rolled out to cut, chasing the scissors as I cut the paper, finding their toys, and dragging them out, and ripping the feathers out of them, . . . but then . . they give you those cute little kitty eyes and you can't help but laugh and love them even more)!

My Excuse

So remember when I was talking about organizing our filing cabinet? Yeah, well . .. THIS is why it isn't getting done. (Or at least I will keep telling myself that).

The Great Escape!

Nina did it again. She got out.

We left the house around 8:45am this morning only to return at 11am to see a cute kitty in our front yard.

I said "Aww! Shane! Look!! A cute kitty!" .. . "aww, it's chasing the birds"! . . . I glanced a little closer at the cat. . it was Nina! OMG!! So I got out of the car and walked up to her calling her name, while she just meowed back to me. Then she finally walked up to me and I picked her up. . . . what the crap!??! How the heck did she get out?

So we walk in the house and I call Jinx's name to see if she's still here . . yep. . . she comes running all excited to greet us. . . so then I go out back and see our back door wide open.

Last time Nina got out, the door wasn't open so that is still a mystery, but this time we knew that's how she got out . . how the door swung wide open?! Who knows?! We have some weird wind suction stuff going on in our house which is why I think that happened.

But yeah . . . Jinx had no inkling to go out and explore. She stayed in the house. Nina loves to explore (which is actually how she got her name . . . the "Nina" ship from Christopher Columbus's ships).

Thank goodness we found her again . . . ugh. . this is just getting too scary. We need to put super duper locks on or something. Our cats are like houdinis!

Nina & Jinx's 2nd Birthday!

We celebrated the kitties 2nd birthday a couple weekends ago (I'm so far behind . . ugh) . . . I feel bad we didn't really have time to celebrate like I wanted to, but the kitties hardly ever get wet food (I heard it's worse for their teeth and such), but they LOOOVEEE it!! Like, seriously. They FREAK out when I get some out. . . . So for special occasions (when they are being good or are being really cute or it's their birthday) they get some!! They were super excited!! I really can't believe it's been 2 years already since we got them! Time flies when you have kitties, I can't even imagine how time flies when you have kids!!

Biggest Scare of My Life!

Omg.

Seriously.

We just got home and usually both the cats greet us at the door, but it was just Jinx. . . but sometimes Nina can be stubborn and lazy, so I didn't really think anything of it. So then I started putting our stuff away and getting some laundry done . . . still no Nina . . . so then I said "who wants a treeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeatt?!" This ALWAYS gets them to come. No Nina. I go in every room of the house . . no Nina. . . so then I start looking under the beds, behind doors, behind drawers, under our tub, in the fridge, in the washer (literally put my hands in all the way feeling around for her), in the dryer (like seriously pulled all the clothes out), in the oven, under the couches, on the cabinets, in the closets, in the garage, . . . no Nina. So I start freaking out . . .Shane starts to help me look . . . No Nina. So as I'm on the verge of crying hysterically, I decide to go outside with my flashlight and call her name. . . "Nina!! Who wants a treeeeeeeeeaaatt?!" . . . I look left, center, right, and then left again . . . and there she is! She just runs right up to me! I pick her up and just start bawling!! I have NO idea how she got out, no idea how long she was out, no idea what she was doing the entire time she was out, but I Thank God!!! that she was right there. What a blessing, and I cannot express how thankful I am that she was there, and is now safe in our house again.
