Cedar Point!

Yay!! Shane and I met two of our best friends, Jon and Cassie (from college track), at Cedar Point this past weekend! It really was one of my best weekends this summer, and so great to see them both! Cassie is a big girl now and works out of her car (company paid) . . like literally . . . she has suitcases full of everything.
We all got out of work a little early so we could drive to Cedar Point Friday night. When we got there we put our stuff in our room and headed on right down the road to TGIFridays! We ended up just sitting at one of the bar tables b/c the wait was waaayy too long, and had a great time and some yummy food!
We then headed out to the boardwalk deck for some beautiful sights and some dancing! And by dancing I mean I busted a couple moves to the Cha Cha Slide and the Cupid Shuffle (as did Cassie) and the boys talked about stupid stuff :-P. We then meandered down the deck to check out Castaway Bay (indoor water park).

Tall guys get free prizes. . . just kidding! We didn't take it!! We all played skeeball and got enough points to get the rockin teeth below (and some tattoos for our day at the park the next day)!

So seriously. . . it was a miracle. We checked the weather all week and right before we went to bed and it had about 80% chance of t-storms ALL day on Saturday. I was really bummed, because Cassie had never been to Cedar Point, and I was just really looking forward to some coasters! We (and by we I mean Cassie) were trying to stay very optimistic and were hoping for the best . . . . we set our alarm clock for 7:30am so we could get some breakfast and get to the park an hour early before the general public was allowed in . . . . opened the shades hoping for some beautiful sunshine and clear skies . . only to see dark grey clouds and hear the rumble of thunder. Bummer . . . . :'( I really almost cried. . . turned the weather station on to see that it was supposed to last all day long . . . :-( . . . so went back to bed. Woke up about an hour or so later . . . Shane checked the weather online and holy crap . . . an awesome act of God. No more rain/showers/storms the rest of the day!!!! I seriously can't believe it!! But it was great! So we got ready, got some brunch at McD's and headed off for the park!
It was a BEAUTIFUL day! Perfect! We ended up riding just the big rides because it ended up being pretty busy . . Raptor (sat in the front row), Top Thrill Dragster (soooo crazy! This was the only ride where EVERYONE was freaking out b/c it is just such a rush!! 0-120 mph in like 2 seconds!), Magnum (20th year anniversary!), Maverick . . oh wait . . we didn't get to ride this one . . stood in line for an hour and then they said that they were going to shut it down for a couple of hours and everyone had to turn around and exit . . . soooo frustrating . . . I heard rumor that it was because the carts de-railed and flew into Lake Erie (just kidding!!!)! So then we headed over to the Millenium Force (probs our favorite one . . that and the TTD), and wouldn't you know what a small world it was . . my cousin was RIGHT in front of us in line!! It was great to see him and talk to him for a couple seconds every minute or so. Then we headed for the Mantis and I can tell I am getting old . . ::: sigh ::: . . . I was almost getting rollar coastered out! I had a headache from my head banging all around, and opted to sit out on the Mantis b/c I remember the pain being greater than the thrill for me on that one. I mean . . you know when they have a sign that says "Due to the dynamics of this ride, we recommend you remove all earrings", it's going to shake you all up! Then we headed back to the Maverick to see how the line was, but it was still a little long and I think at that point we were just all hungry and had our fun, so we went to Chick-fil-a and headed off to Harry Potter to see the Half Blood Prince! It was AWESOME!
We had a great time and are so lucky to have friends like Jon & Cassie (notice the hard core tat on Cassie's arm . . we all wore one)! One of my best weekends this summer! :-)

The Oldest Fair in the Nation!

My wonderful hubby and I decided to go to the annual Fredericksburg Fair on opening Friday night. We got there about 6:30 and left around 9:30 or so. Overall it was a great night out! We haven't been to a fair in a loooooong time, so we were definitely hungry for some greasy food, lots of hicks, carnie rides, agricultural animals, and fun . . .

My personal favs were the animals and the food!

Also, when I made Shaney watch the Miss Fredericksburg Fair pageant, I thought I kept hearing "boooos" and I was like "well that's pretty rude", and then later found out we were right next to the cow barn and they were all "moooooo"-ing! I was pretty happy with the winner though. She seemed the most down to earth and "real".

We were also entertained with some ATV cross country course riding! We saw a four year old driving around on one of those things and he won his heat!! He was so tiny!! And later we were front row joe for an accident where one of the older riders was going off a jump and his front end starting going underneath him . . . he then jumped off, and the ATV rolled over top of him! He was fine! Thank goodness! But I had my hands over my mouth for a very long time! And then later, in the same race . . right at the end a guy went off the jump to the finish line and he landed all weird and had to jump off the ATV right before it went into the fence 100 gazillion miles per hour. He was luckily ok too, but had a limp. I just couldn't believe we saw two accidents in one race! Crazy!

It Was a Baby Rock 4th!

Shane and I's last weekend of chaos for a while . . . (thank goodness . . . not that we don't LOOOOVE seeing everyone, but we haven't been in our house on the weekend in over 4 weeks!)

got to go back home to Erie, PA where we met up with both of our families and some friends! the main reason we were home was for the shower of sommer & my niece! :-) it went rather well!! the food was delicious! i made a fun diaper cake w/my mommy! (see above pic)! great to see the fam! and sommer, bry, and baby rock got lots of fun prezzies! sommer looks amazing as always and had the cutest maternity clothes! the eating cake was fun & so cute! (found the saying online but don't remember where . . . sorry)

















we also got to go out on the boat (don & rita's) on lake erie! sooo beautiful out there! got to go swimming a little bit and see a HUGE snapping turtle! (luckily it wasn't when i was swimming.)

we celebrated marissa's birthday toO!! happy b-day sissy-in-law! :-)

i'll just say that it was so great to see all of our families! and the little time i got to spend with some of my friends was awesome!

sorry this post sucks . . i'm super exhausted from the past month and have TONS to say, but know you wouldn't read it if it were super long . . . so you can see my pics below for more deets (details!).

Now & Then . . .

soooooooo last weekend i got to spend time with my bestest girl friends ever. the SKANKs! (Staci.Kristen.Amy.Nikkie.Katie) . . . also . . . our birthdays are in that order too! weird . . . anyways . . it's been since christmas eve that we were all last together . . . aka 6 months. . . which is terrible! and i hope it's never that long again because it was such a great time and just made me realize how strong our bond is still and how much fun we always have when we're together!

so friday night we went to a late sex & the city movie! probs the best movie ever to see with your girlfriends of 10+ years! definitely recommend the movie to girl friends everywhere . . although it definitely had some too "R" rated moments that made you very uncomfortable, overall it was one of the best movies i've seen in a long time . . . it had a great mix of comedy, romance, drama, and fun!

i've never watched the sex & the city shows, so the movie was the first time i met the characters. and throughout the movie i was reminising about the movie now & then, and how that was "our movie" back in the day and how we all wanted to be roberta (christina ricci) because she was the pretty, cool girl with the boobs and got to kiss devon sawa. . . . and we did end up picking characters for each other (which i won't go into b/c it's kinda embarrassing . . ). . . . so anyways . . i was thinking which of my friends would be which character of the sex & the city girls?! and although some of them have certain characteristics of the girls in the movie, i don't know if i would want my friends to be any of the sex & the city girls . . . . they all have too many issues, and although it would be great to have tons of money to spend on clothes and shoes . . . . i love my friends just the way they are.

and i'm totes looking forward to being with my girls on our "honeymoon" in mexico in less than 6 months! although we best be getting all together before then!

All Aboard!!

so my best friends (mase, kc, kt, nikkie) and i randomly, quickly, & excitedly decided to spend some quality time together by going on a CRUISE!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is a very exciting thing for us because we rarely are ever ALL together, 3 out of 5 of us have NEVER been on a cruise, and because it's the first thing we've done with just "us girls" since our Canada trip four years ago . . unless you count my bachelorette party in baltimore . . . but i don't think that counts . . . although it was lots of fun (minus the day after).

we will be departing from new orleans in decemeber and going to mexico! it's a five day excursion and we are all totes excited about it! our tickets are booked (thanks to kt who endured long, stressful phone calls to carnival) so . . . . mexico here we come!
