My friends and I started a book club that is rightfully named "All Booked Up" (check out our blog) . . because well, we are always so busy, but we wanted something that would give us an excuse to have to get together sooner rather than later . . .
And so I reveal our first book . . . .
I apparently need to get my butt in gear, because everyone is further along than I am. (The first two chapters are boring so far . . but I heard it gets better . . .. and more awkward).
Can anybody tell me if this is worth reading?

yes, it's worth reading (no i haven't finished yet).
also, you have no choice. you have to read it. :)
What do you mean "more awkward"? I'm around page 166 or something. It's good, but so far it's not "on -edge-of-my-seat, can't-wait-to-finish" reading.
I want to see if I can find a calculator that you type in the number of pages and the date of the book club meeting and it tells you how many pages to read a day/week in order to finish on time. We need that.
Mase said it gets weird. . .
That's a great idea! We might have to push it back to March . . . .
That book does start off really slow but it gets better. I still didn't love it though. I did love the two books that come after it :).
If you need suggestions for future books, I recently read (and really liked) "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett and "The Lonely Polygamist" by Brady Udall.
Have fun with your book club! Great idea :).
It definitely gets better. I accidentally started with book 2, which is amazing, and then went back to book 1. Since I knew how good of a writer the author was in book 2, I found the stamina to keep plugging through 1. If I started with 1, I don't know if I would have finished the whole trilogy.
Also, be prepared to move right into 3 after 2 - you won't be able to stop at that point!
really?!I JUST started reading this book last week too! I'm about Chapter 3 or 4 and just starting to get better!
Thanks guys! It's getting a little better! Alison - weird!!!
